I often run into people with a great job at a big corporate organisation, who are questioning themselves if this is it. After 10, 12 years they wonder if they should stick with their job, including all the safety and benefits it brings, or if it’s time to make a courageous move and follow their dreams.

About 14 years ago I was in the same place. Working as Sales Director for the Benelux operation in PepsiCo’s Management Team, I realised that I had a different calling. I quit my job, and started my own Management Consulting firm.

Within a few years we were working with 11 people, serving big multinationals all over the world. Apart from that, I was able to blend all the roles in my life, such as being father, business owner, husband, sportsman, and adventurer. We travelled with our family for a year through the USA in a ’93 Ford Winnabego motorhome, moved to Spain and built a house plus training center at the beach of the Mediterranean. If I look back over the choices I’ve made 14 years ago, I feel not a single regret. I would do a few things different though, but overall I feel more secure, more independent, more flexible, and more fulfilled in my current situation.

I care about the world we live in. My purpose is to support General Managers and their Leadership Teams to create organisations that would be approved by the future. So our children and the generations to come have a sustainable world to live in.
